OW: Harry Potter lives among Muggles because he doesn’t know that he belongs in the Wizarding world yet. Refusal: Harry’s aunt and uncle make it very hard for him to leave his home. They lock him in a closet and try all that they can to make him stay put.

Mentor: Harry’s mentor is Dumbledore. Since his parents died he tends to confide in him for everything because he trusts him.

Threshold: Voldemort is fully committed to killing Harry Potter. Once this is established Harry is fully committed to protecting himself and Hogwarts.

Tests, allies, enemies: He is confronted by Voldemort, death eaters, betrayal of friends, and dark forces against him.

Approach: Harry is able to see a map that shows where everyone is walking within the castle.

Ordeal: One of the professors is carrying Voldemort on the back of his head. Harry becomes trapped by him and has to fight his way free. He almost dies.

Reward: Harry survives death but Voldemort still lives.

The Road Back: For summer, Harry returns to his Aunt and Uncles place once again.

Resurrection: He is constantly haunted by the idea of Voldemort still being alive. He knows that he will strike again.
